About
I have a BS from New York University in Media, Culture and Communication (1999) and worked in the publishing industry prior to embarking upon a career in archives. A volunteer position at the Staten Island Museum's History Library and Archives inspired me to return to school and study Library Science. After four years of part-time study intermingled with a cemetery documentation project and a Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt Institute internship, I received my MLS with a certificate in Archives, Preservation and Records Management from Queens College - City University of New York in 2007. My final project was a comparative study of bibliographic description of zines and fanzines in different kinds of libraries (academic, public, and underground).
Since graduating, I have worked as an archivist for Hadassah, the Women's Zionist Organization of America, Inc. and been a freelance archival consultant. I am the immediate past Programming Chair for the Archivists Round Table of Metropolitan New York and am a member of the Society of American Archivists and the Mid-Atlantic Region Archives Conference.
When I am not thinking about archives, I enjoy conducting gravestone research with my partner, Albin Lohr-Jones, and am a proud member and trustee of the Association for Gravestone Studies.
