I'm a painter and a writer. In my writings, my areas of interest and research are diverse: contemporary art, painting in contemporary culture, feminist art, gender representation, Holocaust studies as they relate to post-war art. I have published two books of my essays: Wet: On Painting, Feminism, and Art Culture; A Decade of Negative Thinking: Essays on Art, Politics, and Daily LIfe (both Duke U. Press); I am the co-editor of M/E/A/N/I/N/G: An Anthology of Artists' Writings, Theory, and Criticism (Duke) and the editor of The Extreme of the Middle: Writings of Jack Tworkov (Yale).
